Since 2015, Peer Review Week has been an inclusive, global event held annually to celebrate the essential role that peer review plays in maintaining research quality. As part of Peer Review Week 2022, join ISMTE President Meghan McDevitt and ISMTE Board member Jennifer Mahar to discuss the important role editorial offices play in creating and supporting trust in the research we publish. Identifying processes and efficient enhancements to maintain quality in peer review are a large part of our day-to-day work. Whether checking submissions for plagiarism, collecting conflicts of interest, encouraging that appropriate reporting guidelines are followed, or investigating potential cases of ethical misconduct, editorial office professionals work closely with editors and publishers to ensure transparency and integrity in the research we publish.

Why Hindi could not become the language of knowledge? Why conceptual, ideological and research writings in Hindi do not enjoy credibility and respect in the academia? Would peer review bring about a positive change in this situation or will it fetter us and deprive us of the freedom we are known for? These questions have never been discussed in the world of the Hindi language. In fact, until a few years back, even the word ‘peer reviews’ was a stranger to us. This event is meant particularly for writers, researchers and teachers who are into conceptual or ideological writings in Hindi. It is for the first time that Peer Review Week is being celebrated not only in Hindi but also in any Indian language.

Survey: Peer Review Week 2022 Theme -This survey aims to capture what researchers across the globe think about the role of peer review in maintaining research integrity. It is being conducted by Editage and Researcher.Life as part of the Peer Review Week 2022 celebrations. Peer Review Week 2022 will be held from September 19 through 23 this year, and the theme is “Research integrity: Creating and supporting trust in research.” The responses received will be analyzed and the overall results shared with the scholarly community through reports, blog posts, etc. We want the academic community to (1) share views on the different threats to research integrity and the role of peer review in flagging and addressing them effectively (2) discuss ideas on how peer review can be improved to better tackle breach of research and publication ethics and (3) share their perspective on this theme with other stakeholders in the scholarly communications ecosystem (e.g., journal editors, publishers, and research organizations)
